The IP address must be determined using the MAC address. This is different from how computers are usually accessed remotely, because the IP address is usually used.
The MAC address of the interface (in colon notation) follows the group addresses, plus a list of any other MAC level addresses that are enabled on behalf of IP Multicast for the particular interface. Group address 224.0.0.1 is the special all-hosts-group to which all multicast interfaces belong.
You can make up your own locally administered address and can be sure that it will not collide with any hardware on your network that use a factory burned-in MAC address.
